International Monetary Fund provided a loan of $ 3 billion Egpitului a period of 12 months to support the economy to recover, the Egyptian Minister of Finance announced on Sunday, Samir Radwan, according to AFP.
Loan interest rate is 1.5%, added the minister.
“The authorities’ economic program is the first step in establishing a foundation for economic growth based on private sector more inclusive,” the IMF said in a statement quoted by Reuters.
Egyptian economy, which depends largely on tourism, has been severely shaken during and after the popular uprising that destroyed the regime of Hosni Mubarak on 11 February.

Fondul Monetar International a acordat un imprumut de 3 miliarde de dolari Egpitului, pe o perioada de 12 luni, pentru a sprijini economia sa se redreseze, a anuntat duminica ministrul egiptean de finante, Samir Radwane, potrivit AFP.
Rata dobanzii imprumutului este de 1,5%, a adaugat ministrul.
“Programul economic al autoritatilor este primul pas in stabilirea unei fundatii pentru o crestere economica bazata pe un sector privat mai incluziv,” se arata intr-un comunicat FMI, citat de Reuters.
Economia egipteana, care depinde in mare parte pe turism, a fost puternic zdruncinata in timpul si dupa revolta populara care a daramat regimul lui Hosni Mubarak pe 11 februarie.
