Following are typical budgets for an international student in Romania. The value of the study fees, which is stipulated by the Ministry of Education and Research, is the same for all universities. The fees differ from one domain of specialization to another. The fees for one year of study include the assessed practical experience stipulated in the curricula and the medical assistance, in the same conditions offered to the Romanian students.
The fees should be paid in advance for a period of 10 (ten) month for full time courses and 3 (three) month for part time courses. Fee quotas in foreign currency, both for full time course and for part time are liable to change.

Details about student’s budget

- To obtain the visa the student must have a place to live after you arrive at the airport (a Hotel / Motel room costs approximately 40-120 euro/day).
- To obtain the residence visa the student must find a place to live for a year. For this the student needs to contact a real estate agency. A commission must be paid to the agency so that the real estate agency can find an apartment. This commission can vary between 200-600 euro.
- An apartment for students costs approximately 150-600 euro/month (the costs depend on the city, the area, the season and the agency).
- More students can live in an apartment.
Transportation in Romania
- In Romanian cities you can travel by bus, subway or tram. A ticket can cost between 0.3-1 euro.
- The costs concerning taxis are: startup – 0.5 euro and every kilometer between 0.5-2 euro.
- A taxi from the airport to the center of Bucharest can cost between 10-30 euro.
Weather in Romania
Owing to its distance from the open sea and position on the southeastern portion of the European continent, Romania has a climate that is transitional between temperate and continental with four distinct seasons. The average annual temperature is 11 °C (52 °F) in the south and 8 °C (46 °F) in the north.
Spring is pleasant with cool mornings and nights and warm days. Summers are generally very warm to hot, with summer (June to August) average maximum temperatures in Bucharest being around 28 °C (82 °F), with temperatures over 35 °C (95 °F) fairly common in the lower-lying areas of the country. Autumn is dry and cool, with fields and trees producing colorful foliage. Winters can be cold, with average maxima even in lower-lying areas being no more than 2 °C (36 °F) and below −15 °C (5.0 °F) in the highest mountains.
Work
You are allowed to work in Romania, but it is very difficult to obtain a job. If you have a study visa you may get a part time job, but it means a very low payment. CCO does not help the student in finding a job.
Scholarships
If you are a beginner, to obtain a scholarship you must apply at the Romanian Ministry of External Affairs.
Regarding foreign students who are already in Romania CCO can offer free assistance to guide the student in obtaining scholarships.
